Badger Beers – Taste Test

Badger gave us a chance to try out their 3 latest ales to hit the supermarket shelves.

“The rounded sweetness of this medium-bodied brew makes it an ideal and refreshing accompaniment to a hot lamb biryani or spicy crispy chilli beef.”

This ale is too gingery for our tastes but we sort of liked it. It ginger taste is super potent so if you love ginger beer and ginger ale, you will be good.

Golden Champion

“The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Golden Champion is a divine all-rounder that is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.?”

One of my favourites, its crisp but fruitful flavour was great. Its depth was surprising with an aftertaste of elderflower.

Golden Glory

“This award-winning classic is a deliciously balanced ale with peach and melon flavours.  It makes an ideal complement to sticky bbq ribs or an indulgent vanilla cheesecake.”

Where the Golden Champion offered a crisp taste, Golden Glory offered a smooth flavour with a peachy flavour.  Peaches are the overflowing flavour with a good balance of sweetness to bitterness.

Overall Thoughts

Loved the variety that they offer with the three flavours they gave us to test. All offer something different for each person’s palate, so having a search we may dig a little deeper into the variety they offer.
