Barbecue Like No Tomorrow

Even if the sun isn’t shining during our great British summer, there will be those among us who are determined to don the apron, pick up the tongs and fire up the coals of the old BBQ.  It is a tome honoured tradition amongst us Brits that come rain or shine, when we decide that a BBQ is to be had, only a hurricane can stop us.

Barbecuing is not just about the grill and the juicy, tender, mouth-watering meat that we cook upon the hallowed altar, there are a few other things that we need to remember when preparing for a big cook out.

When we say kebabs here, we aren’t talking your donner meat in a pita that you get from the local take away after a night out, as delicious as they are.  No, in this instance we mean the kind of kebab that is made up of many elements, cooked and eaten on a skewer.

So, for this you will be needing some decent skewers.  If you use wooden ones, you need to remember to soak them in water before using them, to stop them burning.  We think however that GEFU BBQ Skewers are just the ticket.

They have an integrated slider, which makes it really easy to remove the grilled pieces, whilst at the same time the angular double pronged skewer makes sure that the food stays on while you need it to.  They are dishwasher safe and made of stainless steel, measuring 32cm long.

A Bit of Bubbly

If you like a nice bottle of plonk with your BBQ, then it is a good idea to have a decent corkscrew on hand.  Of course we don’t think you should have just any corkscrew, because that would just be boring, no we would recommend the ooffice favourite, Opinel Marque Déposée’s Couteau Tire-Bouchon Corkscrew.

What is so special, you ask?  Well, the beautifully carved Beech handle conceals the stainless steel, five spiralled corkscrew, that can be easily accessed.  The tip of the handle has a Vibroloc safety catch system, which ensures that the 10cm Sandvik stainless steel blade is secure until it is needed.

A great multitasking tool for any BBQ.  For more information or to purchase, check out Opinel Marque Déposée’s website.

Add a bit of sizzle!

Whilst this final offering is not strictly BBQ, what can be done with it is something that can really add to any BBQ, especially if you are making Jacket Potatoes and want to have an exciting topping!

The Judge Sizzle and Serve is a wonderful cast iron Gratin Dish that is presented upon a heat-resistant maple wood serving stand.  You can use this dish to keep food warm for longer, but you can also make Sizzling Beef, a dish that sizzles as you serve it in the cast iron dish, on its maple stand! You can even cook on the Gratin Dish on the BBQ.

We love the Sizzle and Serve as it is so versatile, use it to keep your fried onions hot, sizzle some beef or make an actual Gratin dish.
