We were lucky enough to nab a little of Charlotte’s time and ask her some questions!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you ended up working in the beauty industry please?

My very young daughter Sandra was my inspiration to start Green People. Sandra had very sensitive skin and was plagued with eczema. In 1994 I began searching for truly natural products that didn’t contain harsh chemical. I found that, despite various marketing claims, many so-called natural products contained up to 99.9% synthetic ingredients. This led me on an exciting journey of researching and formulating truly organic, natural products that would help Sandra and everyone else suffering with skin sensitivities.

Why is natural beauty so important to you?

I believe it is very important to eliminate chemicals from the diet and also from skin care. I am passionate about using only the best ‘hard-working’ ingredients. Our products don’t stop at just feeling great on the skin; they are made with over 90% active ingredients. Opting for organic beauty is an easy step to take if you prefer to avoid contact with the toxins found in everyday toiletries. With up to 60% of what is put on skin getting absorbed into the bloodstream, simply choosing natural ingredients makes a positive difference to the way we look and feel

What are your top five tips for achieving beauty naturally?

Reduce refined sugar in your diet

Invest in a body brush and spend a minute or two every morning to improve skin tone, stimulate circulation, reduce cellulite and kick-start metabolism

I can’t live without Green People’s Age Defy+ Cell enrich Facial Oil combined with Age Defy+ Hydrate & Renew Serum as a hydrating facial treat and make-up primer

Start the morning with warm water and a squeeze of lemon juice or lemon slices

Following the warm water, a fresh juice is a must! My favourite is blended carrot, apple juice and beetroot with grated ginger, add ice if desired, into this I also put the powder from two capsules of Green Beauty and some Omega Oils.

I have just finished reading Naturally Gorgeous and have to say that I found it so interesting and enlightening, a lot of common sense and some secrets we would never have thought of! It is a really clear, concise and interesting book that gets you thinking about beauty.  What made you decide to write the fabulous Naturally Gorgeous?  Can you tell us more about the book?

Inner beauty has always been my intended path starting from childhood when my mum talked about healthy eating and its importance. It took many years but finally I made the time to share my beliefs and experiences from all the research and experimenting over time to help others take steps to improve their health and try a more natural and organic lifestyle.

Do you have a favourite natural remedy or recipe you could share with us today?  Why do you love this particular one so much?

My favourite dish is very simple and nutritious. Shredded beetroot, carrot and apple with a little organic olive oil, a twist of lemon juice and a pinch of salt. It can be enjoyed alone or with a main dish. One of my favourite natural remedies is Chlorella and Spirulina, one of the reasons for formulating Green Beauty with Astaxanthin.
