This month sees some absolute classic movies being released courtesy of Simply Media from Universal Pictures/Hollywood Classics.  We are going to share the six classics during this week…

Never Say Goodbye

164454- Chief Crazy Horse Sleeve.inddRock Hudson (Giant) is a legend in Hollywood and stars in the romantic drama, alongside new comer in 1956, Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino) and Gearge Sanders (The Jungle Book).   Never Say Goodbye sees Rock Hudson as a renowned doctor who unexpectedly finds himself face to face with his wife, his wife who he had thought was dead!  As you can imagine the doctor is filled with a mass of emotions and the film follows just what happens with this unlikely reunion.

Never Say Goodbye, originally released in 1956 comes to DVD in the UK for the first time on 4th July 2016 and you can pick up a copy for just £12.99.

One Desire

164454- Chief Crazy Horse Sleeve.inddAnother of Rock Hudson’s (Giant, Never Say Goodbye) films, sees him starring alongside Anne Baxter (The Razor’s Edge) in the original motion picture from 1955, One Desire.  On a quest to forget and overshadow their rather crazy and somewhat shady past, One Desire follows two lovers who move to a small town, where Clint (Hudson), starts a job at the local bank.  Things become complicated though when the banker’s daughter, Julie Adams (General Hospital), decides she would like to get her claws in to him.  It quickly becomes apparent that she will do anything to get the man she desires! 

One Desire is available for the first time on DVD in the UK from 4th July 2016 and you can grab a copy for just £12.99.

The Proposition

n 1930s Boston Arthur Barrett played by William Hurt (The Incredible Hulk) and his wife Eleanor, played by the stunning Madeline Stowe (Renge) are desperate to have a child.  Unfortunately, Arthur is sterile and they can not conceive without help from another party.  They decide to hire a Harvard Law student, Neil Patrick Harris (How I met Your Mother) to aid them, but as with most things, it does not go according to plan and the consequences of this match become a terrible disaster.  Meanwhile, Kenneth Branagh (Valkyrie), who stars as Father Michael McKinnon finds himself part of the priesthood at St. Jude’s, the parish in which the Barrett’s live and try as he might, he can not avoid meeting these two prominent parishioners with a dark secret.
