Coeliac Awareness Week – UDI’s

Having Coeliac Disease means that you need to eat Gluten Free food or your body attacks itself.  You might be a bit of a star in the kitchen and able to cook everything from scratch, or you might need some easier options.

Enter UDI’s…

Started way back in 1994 in America, Colorado to be exact, UDI’s wanted to make the best tasting gluten free food possible and change the way that people viewed it.  Their hard work led them to become the top brand in the United States and now they are launching in the U.K. and we have been lucky enoug to get our hands on a few pieces from the range.  Here are our favourites…

If you are a fan of bagels, then UDI’s range of delicious savoury and sweet bagels will have your mouth watering and your taste buds tingling. The Bagel Collection includes the following flavours:

  • Multi-seed Bagels
  • Chocolate Chip Bagels
  • Sundreied Tomato Bagels
  • Cinnamon & Raisin Bagels
  • Plain Bagels
  • Savoury Bagels

The bagels are great, firm but soft, have the right texture and are just the right amount of chewy! They are perfect toasted or straight from the packet, with a little butter or a more elaborate filling!

Everyone loves a packet of crisps, but even crisps have gluten in them dependant on what they are flavoured with, so UDI’s have taken it upon themselves to create some tasty offerings for those on a gluten free diet, a perfect accompaniment to a delicious bagel!

  • Jalapeno Cheddar
  • Aged Cheddar

These crisps are so flavourful, it is difficult to have a couple and then put the share sized bag away.

The fabulous thing about UDI’s is that they have a huge range of gluten free snacks that you can devour anywhere you wish, from biscuits to breakfast bars and even toaster pastries!

Toaster Pastries

  • Strawberry Toaster Pastries
  • Apple & Cinnamon Toaster Pastries

Cookies & Biscuits

  • Chocolate Flavoured Sandwich Cookies

3Breakfast Bars

  • Cherry Flavoured Breakfast Bar
  • Chocolate & Banana Cereal Bar
  • Summer Berry Cereal Bar
  • Apple Flavoured Breakfast Bar

It is hard to pick a favourite amongst these but we have to say that the Cinnamon & Sugar Bagel Chips are to die for. A hard crisp like portion of a mini bagel, cooked and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Don not open unless you have the will power yo resist eating the entire packet.
We also loved the cookies, so soft and chewy, but with bite, they are packed with fantastic ingredients and yet again will keep you coming back for more. The flavour combinations incredible and work so well together, leaving you with a yummy cookie!
