The Idea of Craft Food intrigues the average foodie. Hearing of a re-invention of food should wet any person’s appetite. Well “Foxcroft and Ginger” have launched a new menu inspired by the “craft food” trend.
“You’ve heard of Craft Beer and Craft cocktails, so it was only a matter of time before ‘Craft Food‘ became a thing.”
What is Craft Food?
In the age of Fast Food, Craft food aims to shun the pre-packaged, corporate-labelled foods in favor of making as many ingredients and dishes as possible from scratch. Craft foods can be typically made in small batches, with specialised local ingredients. This includes a lot more care and love in the creation of it.
Fox and Ginger
Based in Soho and Whitechapel, they pride themselves on making as much of their menu as possible in house. This includes their breads and cakes, sausages, condiments, sauces, dips, pickles and jams. Their latest Winter Menu is packed full of delights.

Sausages made from scratch in-house, along with the accompanying tomato sauce and sourdough bread. Other Breakfast items include French Toast with mascarpone, Ricotta gnocchi with tomato fondue and a Poached egg on sourdough toast.
Hearty and wholesome lunch dishes are on offer. Dishes include a Sticky duck burger with homemade chutney and chilli, Brazed ox cheeks with a fragrent couscous and homemade carrot jam then a Grilled artichoke salad with marinated mozzarella.
After 4.30pm Specials
Coming into the dinner/teatime rush, they start to get the pizzas going. How about a handmade sourdough pizza with a inventive range of toppings?
Pizza topped with Goats Cheese with fig, homemade Kale Pesto, marinated beetroot and mascarpone. With plenty other choices on the menu.
