Clearwater Marine Aquarium

In the first Dolphin Tale film we are introduced to Winter a young dolphin calf that became tangled in a crab trap of the coast of Florida. Once rescued it became clear that the damage to her tail was severe and she was not expected to survive. Despite all odds and finally losing her complete tail she learnt to swim by herself, however she swam using a side to side motion rather than an up and down motion like a dolphin should. Swimming in this was caused all sorts of health problems for Winter and with the help of a special prosthetic tail she was able to swim normally and correct the damage that was caused.

Winter is a true inspiration and has helped people all over the world come to terms with their disability; after all if a dolphin can swim without a tail then surely anything is possible.

Dolphin Tale 2 heads back to Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) a few years later where Winter is doing well. However, with the passing of her companion Panama, Winter needs a new companion and quickly. As well as following the story of Winter and the human members of the cast the film also concentrates on the other fantastic work that CMA does with its rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine animals.

Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2 stars some big names in the movie business with Morgan Freeman (Dr. Cameron McCarthy), Ashley Judd (Lorraine Nelson), Harry Connick Jr (Dr. Clay Haskett), Austin Stowell (Kyle Connellan), Austin Highsmith (Phoebe) and Kris Kristofferson (Reed Haskett) alongside Nathan Gamble (Sawyer Nelson) and Cozi Zuehlsdorff (Hazel Haskett). However the real stars of the movies are the animals and Winter, Hope and Rufus (the annoying penguin) all make a huge impact on screen and in our hearts.
If you are looking for a fabulous family feel good film then head to the cinemas from today and follow the amazing story of the dolphin who can.
