From 2017 – Energy Cycle – PS4 Game Review

‘Energy Cycle’ – puzzle game from the developers of ‘Energy Balance’. When you click each cell on the game field – it changes colour, and the colours of adjacent cells horizontally and vertically. Your task to bring all the cells to the same colour. Sounds pretty easy, but try to do it!

  • Puzzle (Without timer. Pre-designed puzzles.)
  • Time Attack (With timer and scoring. Random puzzles.)
  • Infinite Play (Without timer. Like ‘Time Attack’, but you can play it forever.)

Energy cycle is a puzzle game which involves you clicking on coloured orbs to change the coloured orbs around it to so they all match. In theory it sounds pretty simple, but after the third level it starts to get a bit tricky.

There are 28 levels in total and a time attack mode. Energy Cycle is only for the hard core puzzlers. It doesn’t really look like it’s a PS4 game and would probably work better on a mobile phone, but if you have the patience and are good at puzzles, Energy Cycle may be for you.

Once the puzzle mode is complete there is not much replay value, but the game doesn’t cost much so it may be worth it for a couple of hours to spend in between other games.

The major positive (or negative, depending on how you look at it) is that the game is really hard and is not something you can get through by just mindlessly clicking things.

If you are up for the challenge or just want to try something a bit different, give Energy Cycle a go.
