Leading up to the festive period, yes it is that time already, we decided to pull together a few tasty cocktails that you could make over Christmas and New Year. Now, we have a air few ideas, so we will be breaking down the recipes into a mini series of articles, bringing you a new ingredient and indeed recipe each week!
This weeks featured alcoholic beverage, Koko Kanu Rum, which is a velvety and full bodied coconut rum, straight from the Caribbean island of Jamaica!
The crystal clear coconut concoction is refreshing and excites the taste buds, filling your senses with all of the delights of the coconut! It can be drunk on the rocks for a flavour sensation like no other, or indeed mixed in any number of ways.
Given it s the only full strength coconut rum available in the UK, we thought it would be a good idea to try a few cocktails out with it!
For our first Festive Cocktail we have the incredible Coconut Daiquiri from Revolucion De Cuba.
A delicate balance of sweet ad sour flavours, it is perfect for coconut lovers wanting a little excitement in their drinks!
1 shot lime juice
1 shot Coco Real
2 shots KoKo Konu
Lime wheel to garnish
Simply mix and serve!

2 Shot Koko Kanu
½ shot lime juice
1 whole Mandarin (quartered)
Dash orange bitters
Muddle whole mandarin including flesh and zest (everything), add liquid ingredients
Shake hard and double strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with a twist of orange
The Blonde Bombshell – Tribute to Marilyn Monroe
One of the cocktails in St James Bar A/W cocktail collection. The collection is inspired by 20th Century greats and The Blonde Bombshell is based on Marilyn Monroe.
Champagne – her favourite drink
Koko Kanu – in remembrance of her trip to Korea in 1954
Cucumber and Horseradish chilled soup from The Balcon Restaruant to give it its exact green colour – reflecting her favourite green Puccy dress
Balanced with egg white, lemon juice, sugar syrup and celery bitters
Concluded with Apple Air emulsion – paying homage to the first ever playboy cover which had her on it.
Garnished with three rose petals – in recognition of her love for Joe Di Maggio who brought red roses to her grave for 20 years.

35ml Beefeater Gin
15ml Koko Kanu Rum
5ml lemon juice
1ml gomme syrup
1ml egg white
30ml green velouté (cucumber, horseradish, mint, jalapeño chili)
5 dashes celery bitters
Can also be made with vodkaGarnish: apple lecithin and rose petals
