Icy – PC Survival Game Review

Post-Apolcalyptic Survival Game, Interested? Read on….

ICY is a narrative-driven post-apocalyptic survival RPG set in a new Ice Age where the player creates a character and has a group of followers to help survive. Creating the character using a detailed stats system that influences the abilities to hunt, travel, scavenge, communicate and lead then begin a journey of survival across the white wasteland.

It is up to player how far to take on the responsibilities and lead the followers/ nomad family in their fight for survival.

“Each decision you make, each word you speak, ripples through the lives of your community.”

Pretty intriguing and different. The gameplay style is different to what we normally played. The story and characters hold the game together for the most part. The setting and the decision mechanics are good,  making those clinical social complex decisions are key to how the game progresses for the player.

There is not much in terms of action but the story is good.

It gives a interesting and different take on the post-apocalyptic setting.  The story drags the player in straight away.  The game centres around it and has some niche gimmicks with “supply” but its all about story.

Story driven with a good soundboard/soundtrack.  However not a lot of action and no voice actors deduct points from our score.  If story is your thing – go for it.
