IHG Challenge – Our Stay In Manchester

As you know Erisea Magazine recently went on a trip to Manchester as part of the IHG Challenge, if you don’t have a scooby about what we are talking about, then have a little look at The IHG Challenge and The Intercontinental Hotel Challenge.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel

Staying in Manchester at the Crowne Plaza Hotel was brilliant.  The hotel was right smack bang in the middle of Manchester, making the shops just minutes away and when it comes to shops Manchester City Centre has them all!

The hotel was really very nice and aesthetically pleasing.  Clean sleek lines and crisp white interiors, made it very welcoming and quite luxurious.  The rooms are stunning, with en suite bathroom, bedside tables, the funkiest lounge chair you ever did see and a desk with chair.  The room was equipped with a large flat screen TV, wardrobe, minibar, ironing board and iron, as well as towels and complimentary bathroom supplies.

If you forget to take anything with you to the Crowne Plaza, the staff are more than happy to bring items such as shaving cream, razors, toothpaste and brushes up to your room.

Manchester 1Another great point about the hotel itself was the room service.  Although expensive, it was incredibly tasty and we literally could not get enough of it!

The downside was that although there was free WiFi at the hotel, if you wanted to stream videos/Facetime you had to pay £10 for 24 hours use.  The food was very expensive and the TV was mostly pay per view.

Luckily we weren’t there to watch TV, or stream videos, we were there to shop until we dropped, which we did!

The Shopping

We had vouchers as part of our IHG challenge which included Dorothy Perkins, Waterstones, TGI Friday’s, Bella Italia, House of Fraser, Marks and Spencer and more.  It was a hectic weekend, with lots of shopping and eating.  We taxied almost everywhere except around the shops as it was completely exhausting and our bags were super heavy!  It even included asking in Bella Italia if they provided Gluten Free food that wasnt salad…and they did!

Rather than bore you with a blow by blow, we though the best way to show you the weekend would be with pictures, so here is a collage of our shopping adventures!

The Photo Shoot

Whilst at Manchester, staying at the Crowne Plaza, we had arranged, (separate to the challenge) to go and have a little friend time by way of being pampered and photographed together.
