Looking for a perfect opener to a co-op gaming party. How about Monster Prom. A monster dating sim where you aim to catch the attention of one of the monsters. To then take them to the prom with your own monster self. Interested? Read on….
Monster Prom is a game which thrives in a creatively diverse narrative and a unique multiplayer play-style. Up to 4 players will pick their monster personas and pick who to charm within a monster school of hotties. With 6 possible love interests and not a straight route to your seduction target, every game will not be the same. With 4 people possibly targeting the same monster’s heart, it can turn into a competition.
Game-play involves picking locations where you will be that week and answer the queries to some of the monsters hearts. “3 Weeks” will mean several chances to hit the library or to hit the gym, depending on who’s direction you wish to go in.
The writing will take you in certain directions and introduce you to one of the possible lovely monstrous targets. Complete situations during the 3 chances during a day, your stats will go up or down depending on how you did. Bigger stats means bigger chance to win.
Once you finish the days/weeks of lead up to the prom – you ask out your prom date – they will say yes or no depending on how well you did. It will give you all the answers to all the situations you had completed too.
With 1000s of events/situations to go through. There is plenty of legs in this game.
Plays well and perfect for a quick game or two. Longevity is good to a point with multiple endings and people to woo, however once you succeed – do you need to go back?
We played for 3 hours and got 4 different endings. Barring 1 bad ending, we got the best endings – Looking at that price point of £9.29 – is it worth it? To a degree yes, happy to of played it and had fun with it. However we wouldnt get value for money for it. This is a game to get when a steam sale comes up though, it will have value when it comes down in price around the 4-5 pound range.
Enjoyed the game, found it to be too short – but a good start to an idea of a genre game. 3/5 Rating.
