Music From The Movies

With the Oscars barely finished we thought that this month we would have a look at the movies and some of the incredible songs that have come from them.  Music inspires movies and vice versa, there is a wonderful symbiotic relationship between the two.

A movie without music would be emotionless pictures flickering across the screen, the music add gravitas to the performances, adds the atmosphere to scene and draws the watcher further in to the film.

We have chosen some of our favourite songs from the movies and put them all in an Rdio playlist.  Now, of course there will undoubtedly be some missing that you love, we couldn’t put them all in, in fact it took us hours to put this one together, but if you give us a shout in the comments below with what songs you think should be included, we will add them!

Some of our picks include:

  • Deeper Underground – Jamiroquai (Godzilla)
  • Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr. (Ghostbusters)
  • The Air Tonight – Nonpoint (Miami Vice)
  • Stuck In The Middle – Gerry Rafferty (Reservoir Dogs)
  • I Wanna Sex You Up – Color Me Badd (New Jack City)
  • Danger Zone – Kenny Loggins (Top Gun)
  • Hero – Chad Kroeger (Spiderman)
  • Call Me – Blondie (American Gigolo)
  • Abraham’s Daughter – Arcade Fire (The Hunger Games)
  • Decode – Paramore (Twilight)
