Music to Listen out for…. K.Flay – High Enough

Videos come and videos go. We get allot though our inbox and we thought we would share a few – Offical Links at the bottom of the article.  Next Up K.Flay.

Coming into this, we knew nothing of K.Flay but video highlights the sounds of her latest album Every Where Is Somewhere. It is so textured and unique.  She is getting the views too with her having two sold-out UK shows at the Camden Assembly at the end of June.

The video is directed by Lorraine Nicolson. She explains that the video is a twist on the theme of “music’s ability to unite us despite our differences”.

“A great song can cut across cultural boundaries better than language can, and I think K.Flay’s new track has that kind of power. For our team, it was important the video retained a sense of playfulness, which was made possible by the nuanced performances of dancers Savannah Harrison and Scott Hislop as choreographed by Andrew Winghart.”

Our Thoughts – High Enough to me the song was going to be about drugs but it is not (not totally). The video adds extra elements into the song lyrics and twists it. The arguing couple who suddenly start dancing is intriguing.

Back to the music, it has a good theme and has good depth to it. With the changeups in pace and rhythm – and cracking catch lyric to keep you singing it to yourselves.

As well at K.Flay’s two sold out UK shows at the end of June, Starting on September 26th, she will be joining Imagine Dragons as support for an incredible 31-date stretch across North America.
