Not a Clone is a iOS App Store Parody Game where the player unlocks more games from the “store” by scoring more points in their runs to success. Think Wario Ware, small highlights of parody games to get more.

Not a Clone is a game where quick thinking and even quicker responding is needed to find success. The game features over two dozen original and parody “micro games”, to unlock more the player must chain success in a “run” of micro/mini-games.  Higher score means more “Zeni” money to spend on the parody app store.

“You have five seconds to get through each micro-game that is thrown at you by following the instructions that appear on the screen. The further you go, the harder it gets. How long will you last before your device runs out of power? Will you earn enough to unlock your next challenge? Will you know which games are being parodies and which games are not a clone?

Gameplay

Featuring over 30 fast-paced games to play and master!

Store

The game itself is basically a collection of minigames with the concept of unlocking more and more from doing runs.

It works as a game for sure. From experience playing Wario Ware, we got the impression earlier on that the games are based on reactions.

The parody games are not clones of the games – cause they cannot be due to licensing. Angry Monkeys is the clone of Angry Birds, taking the concept of the game but been similar but not the same. Key difference is that it is its not left to right, its down on up.

Another parody is Flappy Sombrero (parodying Flappy Bird), instead of a bird – a sombrero and instead of pipes – cactuses.

Its holds aspects of the games but are noticeably different.  The originals they have created are also good – all on the micro build.

Overall

The game came to us by chance and we were glad for the opportunity. The game is perfect for a quick fix and with extra games to unlock – multiple quick fixes.  Could we sit down and play for hours straight – No, however it is perfect for quick 2 minutes here and there.
