Nutty about Liberation nuts

Liberation Foods HQ, a Fair Trade and farmer owned nut company, has just launched a delicious new product to their range of nuts: Oven Baked Mixed Peppercorn Peanuts with Cashews & Habas Fritas.

At Erisea magazine we tried a packet of these moreish goodies: the spicy peanuts are coated with ground peppercorns for a really peppery taste, and the Habas Fritas are broad beans have been deep fried and seasoned with salt to create a crispy, crunchy and golden roasted snack. The combination of both nuts and beans makes for a deliciously crunchy texture which leaves you reaching back into the bag again and again. We recommend trying them with a glass of cold beer while you relax in the evening.

Liberation have other recipes within the range including Oven Baked Chilli & Lime Cashews with Peanuts & Roasted Corn, and Oven Baked Salted Cashews and Peanuts.

All Liberation’s nuts are sourced from co-operatives of small-scale growers and farmers who own a 44% share of the company. Peanuts come from Nicaragua and Malawi and cashews come all the way from India, and Liberation proudly proclaim to be ‘passionately nuts about Fairtrade, the livelihoods of its farmers and providing the best tasting product.”
