Locked up and completely isolated from the life she once had, Renée was just 16 years old and the 12th March 1938 signaled a huge fracture in her life. “A danger to herself and others and a cause of public scandal” the police said and with no warning she was hidden away in this strange place.
Town of Light is set in the early 20th Century, Italy. The environment that Renée is trapped in and needs to explore was a real place that existed, it has been painstakingly reconstructed with realistic 3D graphics to provide as authentic an experience as possible. Your job is to venture into the unknown and relive what happened to Renée. It is wise to be prepared, whilst there are no zombies, or ghosts, enemies to track down or supernatural beings, the Town of Light will deliver an intense and absorbing psychological experience. You live her life from her viewpoint and every choice has a baring on what will happen next.
The game is based on fact, the events really happened and people actually lived this, the research has been meticulous and it shows in the detail provided during game play. An easy game to pick up, but a hard one to put down. It will evoke emotion and have you wondering about the lives that people were forced to live all those years ago, you will sympathize with Renée. Your time spent in the game will allow you to explore the subject of mental illness and how mental institutions operated in the 1940s, remembering all the while that this game is based of real life.
