Music is inside all of us and HBO’s new series Vinyl is all about the music. Created by Golden Globe winner and Emmy® nominee Mick Jagger who is also the lead singer for The Rolling Stones, Academy Award® winner and Emmy® winner Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, The Wolf of Wall Street), Rich Cohen (Magic City) and Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® winner Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street), Vinyl is about to make its debut on Blu-Ray and DVD from 6th June 2016.
Vinyl has an all star cast that includes Bobby Cannavale ( Will and Grace, Boardwalk Empire) as Richie Finestra, the founder and president of American Century Records. He is adrift in the 1970s, not only is his company on the verge of being sold, but he has lost his love of music, his passion for the industry that once held him captivated. Even so, Richie is doing his best to save the company that means so much to him, without destroying people in the process. One night Richie finds himself at an event that before he knew it, rekindled the adoration he once held for music. Quickly he finds himself once more filled with passion and inspiration, but it comes at the cost of his personal life.
Season One of Vinyl is not just a show set in the drug and sex fueled 1970s, a time when punk, hip hop and disco were emerging, a time when the music industry would be forever changed. It follows Richie Finestra but features some of the most incredible artists known to the music industry. Alongside Bobby Cannavale you will find the beautiful Olivia Wilde (House, Doll & Em) and Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), as well as a fantastic supporting cast that really brings the 1970s of New York to life.
Vinyl comes to DVD and Blu-Ray on 6th June 2016 and includes ‘Making Vinyl: Recreating the 70s’ and Inside Episode Briefs, as well as audio commentaries by the creator Terence Winter and stars Bobby Cannavale and Olivia Wilde.
