This weekend was full of draws with a few suprises.
Saturday 20th September
Watford 1 – Bournemouth 1
With Watford Manager Oscar Garcia still absent, Watford only could manage a draw at home. He is due to be out of hospital at the time of writing and hope he is doing well.
Bournemouth meanwhile, are upset they couldn’t step up and keep hold of the three points but will be happy with a hard fought draw.
Brighton 0 – Blackpool 0
Brighton started the season brightly but now are without a win in four league games. Jose Riga (Blackpool Manager), would be happy to keep picking up the point with growing speculation with his job.
Derby 2 – Cardiff 2
Cardiff were 2-0 up after 55 mins but 2 hard fought goals kept Derby in it and Derby claim a good point. Cardiff having lost their Manager now look to rebuild under a new manager – yet to be found.
Fulham 0 – Blackburn 1
Another team and another vacant manager spot. Fulham’s caretaker manager of Kit Symons did get a good performance out the team but being reduced to 10 men at the end of the first half provided the difference.
Leeds 3 – Huddersfield 0
3rd team in a row with no manager (well for Leeds a coach), and a good performance. Redfearn would probably love the job full time with the 3 out of 4 wins in the games he has been in charge.
Antenucci seems to be the new standout player with 2 great performances and yet more to come.
Middlesbrough 4 – Brentford 0
The Brentford boss was fuming after the game with a bad performance and drop of the season’s good standards. The better team did win, with Middlesbrough creating a new charge up the table.
Millwall 0 – Nottingham Forest 0
A scrappy game with no real clinical finishing to make this a good game for the natural viewer.
Norwich 2 – Birmingham 2
Birmingham were 2-0 up, but a strange set of circumstances led to them conceding two goals. A player with stomach cramps was covering the run of the first goal. Meaning they were on the back leg for the rest of the game.
Rotherham 1 – Charlton 1
Rotherham and Charlton had a hard fought draw, standout performance Becchio who is now not hugging Norwich’s bench.
Sheffield Wed. 1 – Reading 0
Sheffield Manager is happy that their home form has now got a win in the win column. Reading meanwhile, are drifting but with a new ownership on the horizon means a new future for the club.
Wolves 1 – Bolton 0
Wolves grabbed the points with a first half header by Dicko. Bolton look to be good defensive team but with no attacking force.
Monday 22nd September
Wigan 1 – Ipswich 2
Monday’s game was a good one. Wigan on a bad role tried to fight back to beat an great Ipswich team. Ipswich now up to 7th will be looking to keep up and get a shot at the playoffs.
News (In Brief)
Fulham need a new manager and are looking at Leyton Orients. Leeds look to Slovenian Markovic to lead the way – strange considering how well Redfearn was doing. Reading look to new owners to try a new thing.
