Xbox One S

Gaming is always evolving, we are constantly waiting for the next generation of games and consoles.  What will the new features be?  How will our gaming experience be improved? What new specifications will we have to play with? And of course, what will the next gen games be like?  As usual we are not disappointed as this year, Microsoft are releasing the new Xbox One S for our gaming pleasure.

Exclusive Games

The brand new Xbox One S will have a massive 100 console exclusive games on release.  These are some of the biggest blockbusters that we see each year such as FIFA 18, Forza Motorsport 7 and Gears of War 4, not to mention other favourites that include State of Decay 2 and the long awaited Crackdown 3.

If you have been waiting for consoles to give us the absolute best in graphics, then HDR will definitely get you excited.  Bringing more vibrant, luminous colours, your gaming experience will be richer when using High Dynamic Range technology, allowing gamers to get a more realistic visual depth.

4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ & Video Streaming

The visual experience of entertainment is furthermore advanced by the use of 4K Ultra HD for streaming and Blu-ray™, meaning that all of your apps such as Netflix and Amazon Video will benefit from the top of the range viewing technology.  This is alongside Premium Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio that will bring games, TV show and movies to life!

What about actually playing though?  How will what you are used to with Xbox One be affected by the new upgraded machine?

Backwards Compatibility

We are already used to our old Xbox 360 purchases becoming available to play on the Xbox One, whether we bought them digitally or on disc.  Slowly our libraries have been growing with our old favourites, as Microsoft update the catalogue of games we can choose from.  There are now hundreds of games that are backward compatible and this is not going to change with the Xbox One S!

Xbox Play Anywhere

A really exciting feature of the Xbox One S is the ability to Play Anywhere! This means that when you purchase an xbox One game that is marked Play Anywhere, you automatically get the ability to play it both on Xbox One and Windows 10, double the gaming fun!

Xbox Game Pass is something we are very excited about.  Completely different to Xbox Live, where you pay to play online among many other benefits, such as free games each month, Xbox Game Pass is a library of games, (over 100 titles to begin with).  This catalogue of games will be available to you, with unlimited access, to play to your hearts desire.  That is over 100 games you wont have to buy individually, that you can play when you want, for as long as you want!

What else do you need to know?

The Xbox One accessories, games and adaptors will all work with the Xbox One S, so no need to worry about getting new controllers, games, or leads.  Just plug in your brand new console and off you go!

You can get the new Xbox One S at all good retailers from just £229.99 as a standalone purchase or in various bundles.  For more in depth information please visit Xbox’s website, we can’t wait to get our hands on one, how about you?
