We love when artists subtly change the beat of a big hit song and Lissie does this with Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”.

About The Video

Lissie has now released the video for her cover of the Miley Cyrus mega song ‘Wrecking Ball’ – gone is the Ball and it strips it down to its core. The track is taken from Lissie’s gorgeous new covers EP Thank You To The Flowers out now.

The Video is stripped down and Lissie has said that she loved the look and feel of the video.

“As we started to mess around with the lenses and lights, I liked the suggestion of the extremes, the black and white, the duality, the light and dark. I wanted the performance to feel raw, intimate and casual.” – Lissie.

Thank You To The Flowers is a collection of stunning covers of songs by female artists Lissie admires. Each song has been recorded as a form of therapy, using her powerful voice to infuse each track with her own emotions to simultaneously lift her spirit and celebrate the women that inspired her to do so.

Our Thoughts

We love her voice on the track, it starts off similar to Miley’s version but then pushes through in a softer more fragile direction.  The video direction also shows a softer, fragile direction – this works perfectly for us.

When it is a cover, we love people who twist it in a different way or puts their own spin on it – Wrecking Ball is a great cover and it has made us have a listen to the full Thank You To The Flowers EP.
