About
Superliminal is all about puzzles and perception. In this mind bending first person puzzler where each level can frazzle the mind. The surreal dream world will require you to explore and solve increasingly hard puzzles with the simple premise of perspective change.
In the dream world, you can pick any light object up and move it to a point where it can help you. Move it closer and the perspective change makes it bigger. Then move it further away from you and it gets smaller.
That simple rule means you can pick up giant chess pieces and make them small to get past.
The story is all about Dream Therapy. As you fall asleep at 3am you spot “Dr Pierce’s Somnasculpt dream therapy program”. Once you open your eyes in game, you are already dreaming.
Thus the story begins, welcome to the first stages of this experimental program. “Welcome to Superliminal”.
Gameplay
Think outside the box in this game, but what if you can change the size of the box?
Superliminal is a puzzle game that forces you to think. From rooms where a box needs to be manipulated or for a simple chess piece to be moved out of the way.
Controls are simple and the initial levels show off the key concepts you need to know the further you go.
Overall
It is a game that makes you think outside the box from the start. It brings us back to the stories of Portal and Quantum Conundrum to us in a great way. It builds the story as you go through each level and it takes it in weird directions.
Very weird game and very unique with you taking anything out of a room to solve the problem. Size and shape can be hard to adjust but once you get used to the controls – you are rolling.
At the current price of £15.99 (at time of writing) on Epic Game Store the game is a steal. We give it a 5/5 rating.
