Should you pick up Prime, here are a few facts as to why you should get your hands on Prime.
Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is Amazon’s “VIP” Service which focuses on premium next day delivery service of parcels, Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Amazon Originals too.
We will focus on Prime Video but will take all additional things around taking up the service into account.
Amazon Originals/Exclusives
To think about a streaming service nowadays, their original programming needs to be considered. They have a lot of unique films and tv shows available to you from the off.
They have both Originals and Exclusives. Originals they have created while Exclusives they hold the rights to.
Some of the Highlights include –
- The Boys – Comic Book based Action/Drama. What if Superheroes were darker in life that you thought.
- Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan – Spy Drama with (John Krasinski) as Jack Ryan. Very story driven with plot twists and turns happening constantly. Think Jason Bourne.
- Little Fires Everywhere – Based on a 2017 bestselling book by Celeste Ng, this follows the intertwined fates of a picture perfect family and the people who upend their lives.
- Upload – A Comedic Drama with a Sci Fi Premise. What if before your last breath, you had the option to live forever “digitally”? When party boy Nathan (Robbie Amell) get uploaded to a virtual resort, he finds a down to earth “angel” – who helps find his purpose again.
Sports
While we write this – we are watching some NFL coverage, Amazon are getting more and more rights to sports around the world. They have some NFL with the weekday games going on to Amazon Prime. They also have coverage for the Rugby Autumn Nations Cup 2020, the Tennis with ATP and WTA events and some English Premier League Football too.
If you love sport this will play apart of the decision. The further we move into the future – the more streaming rights will go to Amazon.
The App
Every good service needs a good app for mobile and tablet devices – Amazon’s Prime Video app is great. It contains all the possible things you can watch on both a Pay/Rent and a Free Basis.
Very easy to move around the app and find something different to watch. If you find something you want to watch but it costs (so you dont want to watch it) – move to the bottom of the page and it gives you alternatives available on Prime.
The use of a simple Prime banner on the top left corner of every selection’s picture makes your choices easier to find.
We found The Listener and Haven that way. (Currently available on UK Prime Video for free).
Overall
If you love TV Series and Movies, their UK Collection is on par with Netflix and Disney with it having both free and buy/rent options.
They have plenty to watch and is definitely worth the £7.99 a month it currently is.
