Retailers have set their final order dates for Christmas and they are surprised very optimistic. ParcelHero also thinks that and they predict that they will back fire.

About

ParcelHero’s David Jinks predicts that last minute shoppers are in for a shock this year.

‘Retailers have mostly stuck to the final deadline dates for online Christmas orders that they quoted last year and, in fact, some have stretched their last order dates even closer to the big day. This is a move that we think is misguided and could backfire.’

The research showed that Christmas online sales have rose by 56% last year compared to 2019.  It is predicted that 1 out of every 3 shoppers plan to buy entirely online.  With Brexit, this will produce an increased strain on the orders. This can include stuff from port delays, container shortages and custom red tape.  This means less stock and more problems with the supply chain too.

The Dates

Earliest Deadlines include:

  • Dell – 2nd December for selected items. 17th December for the rest.
  • HP – 16th December
  • All Saints – 18th December
  • Conran – 19th December
  • Pets at Home – 20th December

Latest Deadlines include:

  • Amazon – 24th December
  • Argos – 24th December
  • ASOS – 24th December (at specific postcodes only)
  • Net-a-Porter – 24th December (at specific postcodes only)
  • Selfridges – 24th December (London Only)
  • Zara – 24th December (London Only)

Our Thoughts

Be careful if you have to be last minute with your purchases.  Plan ahead and purchase big items in store where possible and set out a game plan to reduce that risk on relying on online.  We all hate delays and we do not wish to spoil anyone’s Christmas.
